Plumbers, HVAC Technicians and Sheet Metal workers-COMMERCIAL / LIGHT INDUSTRIAL CONSTRUCTION

Johnston Builders Ltd. is looking for motivated and experienced Plumbers, HVAC Technicians& Sheet Metal workers and labourers to join our team for a 14-to-15-month project. These roles are based out of Whitefish Lake First Nation-Atikameg Alberta.  

**Priority will be given to members of Whitefish Lake First Nation-Atikameg community who reside in WLFN-Atikameg**

 Key Accountabilities include:

• Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. They ensure indoor climate control, optimize energy efficiency, and maintain air quality for residential, commercial, or industrial clients.
• Can review and comprehend commercial / light industrial blueprints and shop drawings in order to complete layouts, including selecting materials, planning sequences and methods of work, measuring, and marking materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
• Maintenance & Servicing, execute preventative maintenance, including changing filters, checking refrigerant levels, and calibrating controls.
• Assemble, install, and repair pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures (such as sinks, toilets, showers, and water heaters)
• Inspect plumbing systems for leaks, diagnose problems, and perform both routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Take part in Qa/Qc and safety documentation when directed by foreman / superintendent.
• Perform other related duties when asked.

Ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Have a positive attitude, excellent and solid interpersonal skills.
• Must have relevant Journeyman Tickets from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered in the Plumbing/ HVAC Apprentice with a recognized provincial training authority.
• Non-journeyman applicants must provide verifiable industry-related work hours as part of the application process.
• Must have previous experience working in a commercial, multi-family and light industrial setting.
• Proficient in reading and understanding plans and shop drawings.
• Proven attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Organizational and time management skills and must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Team Player.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License is an added advantage.

Compensation and benefits:

• The hours for this position are 40 hours per week with opportunity of overtime (paid at 1.5 times
• Competitive hourly wage.
• LOA Bonus for out-of-town work.
• Vacation paid out per pay period.
